Occupying an idyllic position on the edge of the woods, these 4-star self-catering suites are superbly designed and generously equipped for either long or short stays. Located on the grounds of the Shannon Oaks Hotel & Country Club, during your stay you can take advantage of the hotel’s extensive facilities, including complimentary use of the award-winning leisure club. The hotel also boasts a traditional bar, 2 award-winning restaurants and unrivalled banqueting, wedding and conference facilities - all in a spectacular parkland setting. When you are not relaxing in the hotel, Portnuma offers you the chance to enjoy wonderful countryside, including the lake-fringed Forest Park and wildlife sanctuary which is home to a variety of species of birds and deer. It is an excellent setting for relaxing walks, scenic picnics and beautiful nature trails.
The hotel provides a choice of 2 award-winning restaurants: The Castlegates serves a distinguished menu of classic and fusion Irish dishes, prepared from the finest local produce and complemented by a carefully selected wine list; for casual dining you can also sample the Upper Deck Bistro serving classic Caesar salads, prime steaks and sizzling fajitas. The Castlegates Restaurant is open Monday to Saturday between 08:00 – 21:30. Sunday Lunch served from 12:00. The Upper Deck Bistro is open nightly from 18:00. Each suite also features a kitchen area for self-catering.
Breakfast is not included and costs EUR 13.00 per person.
